What I took away from the training:
- Feeling empowered with new skills.
- Experiencing relaxation being in a woodland environment.
- Developing a curiosity to know more about plants animals and nature.
- Enjoying the opportunity to do things I’d never done before - coppicing a tree.
- Remembering how much fun it is to play at make-believe and build small world places in the forest.
- Working with a partner sharing experiences and supporting each other.

Reflections on Forest School Training:
Reflections on Forest School Training:
- Slow pace/not rushed – feeling of time to enjoy and experience things.
- Satisfaction of learning new skills and more about natural world, then applying those skills and making something of my own to take home!
- Enjoyment of meeting new people – working together to complete a task was satisfying – being able to help others if there was something I knew how to do, but also having others use their time to help me learn something was very pleasing – felt valued.
- Having to persevere to make something – perhaps light a fire or make a whistle make a sound – satisfaction when it eventually worked.
- Have always considered myself to have poor knowledge of wildlife, trees and plants – great to feel I now have basic understanding and knowledge and the ability to build upon that over time.

'It was such a pleasure to have you visit us and your lovely words about our setting really touched mine and my colleagues hearts and has re-energised our enthusiasm about starting the journey all again next year.
I really appreciate your understanding and gentle approach to supporting people through the course. Your advice about approaching the 6 sessions is really helpful and has eased my mind about reapproaching the task next term.'

'I really enjoyed coming out to the woods and building on my skills and experience. It has been great to explore the Forest School approach. This is definitely something you can't learn on-line - it would be like learning driving just on simulator.'
Alice (National Trust ranger) - 2019 student
'I have done a lot of training in the past and this was one of the best courses I have done - I was always engaged and interested in the content and really enjoyed it.'

'I can see so many of the activities we took part in really engaging kids in to the natural world. I can use a lot of what I learnt with my kids and my friends kids straight away. I hope to do so very soon. '
Eleanor (Working in schools) - 2018 Student
